Durga Devkota has been carrying in the Nepal Himalaya for over twenty years, on the high passes and the long approach days where a strong porter changes what a group is able to do.
He works mostly on our longer itineraries — Manaslu, Kanchenjunga, the crossings that take weeks rather than days — and he has walked them enough times to know exactly how much daylight is left.
